Gatorskins® are American made
100%, from the manufacture of the fabric to the sewing of the clothing. The
company is owned by a military service disabled veteran and his wife who have
been riding for over 45 years.
GatorSkins® was created in order to offer an apparel that keeps riders warm without heavy bulky garments.
Cathi and Michael Burke started
Gatorskins® three years ago after searching for a material that would really
keep them warm when riding their Indian on long, chilly trips. After trying all
the bulky polys and fleeces, then the micros and polys that didn't work, they
came upon Gatorskins®; a forgotten fabric in a dusty warehouse. The long search
paid off.
Cathi and Mike started from
scratch. They immersed themselves in the process of manufacturing the material
to specific needs. Building prototype clothing pieces, testing samples, developing
the clothing line into exactly what was needed for motorcyclists and others who
spend time out of doors in cold weather.
Being owners of two
motorcycle clothing and accessories stores in Central Pennsylvania, Battlefield
Leathers in Gettysburg, Pa. and Renegade Classics in York, Pa., they know
exactly what riders need on cold days. Gatorskins® fill the need.
GatorSkins® thermals are the warmest and best solution for cold weather motorcycle riding. In fact, they are a fantastic warm body answer for any outdoor activity in cold weather. Knitted from an extremely thin and lightweight material that moves with the wearer. A breathable, rugged fabric that is water repellent and warms three times better than wool. Great stuff!
The GatorSkins® technology was developed by researchers from a new leading edge material. This micro fabric is knitted from ultra microfibers that are smaller than a human red blood cell, yet they hold a greater amount of warm air next to the body than traditional fabrics of equal or greater thickness. GatorSkins® will keep you warmer in the cold and drier in wet weather and still breath better than any other water repellent material you have tried.
