Gator Skins Thermal Top is made with patented Light Weight Thermal Technology, with its remarkable heat capacity maintains body temperature without weighing you down. Gator Skins shirts are made with knitted sleeve cuffs to keep cold air out and crew collars to keep out of the way of other gear the rider may be using. The shirts also have extra long tails to stay tucked in while leaning forward when riding.

The shirt is most often worn over a cotton t-shirt, though some customers prefer to wear them next to the skin. The shirts should be worn loose like a t-shirt.  Wearing Gator Skin shirts too tight will impede their water repellent properties and their warming capacity.

Features

  • Water repellent

    When fitted properly Gator Skins will repel water. Due to our circuitous cross-sectional knitting water will not penetrate the fabric.

     

    Breathability

    Though Gator Skins repel water they allow air to flow through the fibers. Air molecules are smaller than water molecules and move through the fabric, but the larger water is blocked by the micro fibers and turned away.

     

    Heat retention

    The secret of our performance lies in our patented construction and fabric. Ultra microfibers retain just the right amount of warm air next to the body insulating the body perfectly for a comfortable ride. Though Gator Skins is a breathable material, it still retains warmth in a miraculous new way. Due to the various fibers used, Gator Skins have the ability to allow some air to pass and some fibers to warm quickly and effectively hold onto warm air molecules. This second fiber has millions of tiny air pockets that trap warm air thus warming the fibers themselves, creating an inviting and pleasant experience.

    Damage proof

    Gator Skins will not fray, even if you somehow manage to tear a hole in one of our shirts, it will not fray. Due to the lock knit technology used, the damage will not increase.

GREAT WAY TO KEEP WARM August 20, 2010

WHEN I STARTED WEARING GATORSKINS 2 YEARS AGO I QUICKLY BECAME IMPRESSED, MY ABILLITY TO RIDE IN EXTREME COLD TEMP'S WAS UPGRADED FROM WEARING 2 LAYERS OF TRADITIONAL COTTON LONG JOHN'S, A PAIR OF SWEAT PANTS, FLANEL LINED JEANS.INSULATED CHAPS AND JUST AS MUCH ON THE TOP HALF, I FELT LIKE A ESKIMO RIDING DOWN THE ROAD. WHEN I MADE THE SWITCH TO GATORSKINS ALL I NEEDED WAS THE GATORS MY JEANS AND MY CHAPS, A GATOR SHIRT SWEAT SHIRT, AND LEATHER JACKET, THIS MADE MOVMENT MUCH EASIER AND TOOK AWAY THE ESKINO FEELING. I WOULD RECOMMEND GATORSKINS TO ANYONE WHO RIDES AT 15 DEGREE'S AND BELOW, HUNTS, TRAPS, FISH'S, SHOVELS SNOW, OR JUST SPENDS ALOT OF TIME OUTSIDE IN THE COLD AND DONT WANT TO WEAR 5 LAYERS JUST TO STAY WARM. Shirts and Pants April 27, 2010

First off I want to give a shout out to Mike..Had a shipping snafu and Mike was all over it and very  much a gentleman and we got it resloved..Second the DAY after me and my wife recieved our sets we got to test them..We had rain AND snow and high 40 degree temps here in Wyoming... for the fun of it haha ..We went out for a short ride with just our shirts on top and levis and pants on bottom..At 48 degrees we rode in a light drizzel of snow/rain mix for about 20 mins..The shirts are DEFINETLY water repelant as neither of us got wet under the shirts and they are VERY warm we could have used a jacket due just to wind chill but for just using the shirts we were warm and dry..I will give Gatorskins a 12 Star rating if that was a choice..GREAT investment and worth every penny I recommend them to ANYONE who rides..PERIOD...Top notch people and product Mike ..GREAT JOB

fits as shown in your ad, not sure its is keeping me any warmer than a long sleave shirt for the money, maybe it's too tight I don't think its any tighter than my t-shirts as I compared the fit, whats your thoughts?

I have used gator skins for a couple of years now. I ride all year long and work construction. I wear them to ride and work and they truely do the job as advertised. I highly recomend them to anyone for any outdoor activety.

The shirt is warm even in windy conditions. I use it for work as a base layer. I love that it's lite and very flexable. It didn't shrink in the wash either. I've had it a year now and plan on getting another one. One isn't enough.
